India Pale Ale

India Pale Ale

India Pale Ale was developed in England to withstand the long journey to India during colonization. Our India Pale Ale has a copper/golden color and medium aroma hops, with a slightly higher starting gravity and hop rates than our regular pale ale.

The Brewhouse kit produces all-grain microbrew style beer with the convenience of a kit. Brewed from fresh grains and hops, it is pure all-grain wort made the same way as commercial microbrewed beers

This was the first beer kit I had ever tried. I had experience making wine from scratch, so the instructions all made perfect sense. I ended up using a Wyeast British ale yeast strain and everything started fermenting within the first 24 hrs. After 7 days when fermentation completed I moved it to a secondary where it rested for about 3 weeks. I bottled it at this time and put the bottles away for 3 weeks or so. The first one I tried was incredible. Very nice taste and mouthfeel. It is not overly hoppy, just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness of the ale. Carbonation turned out just right. The taste is probably one of the best IPAs I have had, and I have searched out the most popular ones out there. This beer is so amazing it even tasted good as it warms up to room temperature. I was floored how well it turned out for my first beer... beginners luck. I had some friends over who drink mass produced lagers, and they were blown away at how good homebrew can be. These kits truly taste as good as the microbrew and specialty beers you see popping up in the Brewhouse Pubs and beer stores. Give it a try, since this one, I have made the Brewhouse Stout, Munich Dark and Pale Ale all with success. Great kits!

First Brewhouse Beer Kit I ever made and I just bottled it. Tastes great, not too hoppy, nice clean citrus aftertaste. Just as good as my favourite store bought IPA and for less than 1/2 the store price in BC. I used the 500 ml plastic bottles and caps and got 48 bottles, worked out to $1.30 Cdn per bottle (kit + u-brew store fee) not including bottles, caps and tax. I will be making this again...very happy.
