This last-minute gift idea will have you outshining the other guests’ gifts.  A sweet but simple guide on how-to-make a mulled wine kit is great for wine lovers on your list.

Looking the perfect wine to include in mulled wine kit? Mulled Wine is easy to drink, fruity and sweeten with honey (or sugar). The perfect wine pairing would be dry and have fruits notes, little oak .  If you have our EPWS Italy Zinfandel, EPWS Italy Valpola, Cru Select California Style Pinot Noir or our Cru International California Zinfandel Style you could add that to your box.  Here’s how to get started on your box kit:

Mulling Spice Mix:

• 2 cinnamon sticks
• 3 whole star anise
• 1 tablespoon green cardamom pods
• 1 teaspoons whole cloves
• 1 teaspoon allspice berries
• 1 fresh nutmeg pod
• 2 cloves

To Include in the Kit:

• Mulling spices (see above)
• 1 (750 ml) bottle of fruit forward, low tannins, red wine ( Zinfandel, Grenache)
• 1 small jar of honey or raw sugar
• 1 small bottle of brandy or cognac, optional
• Dried orange slices
• A jar or container for the mulling spices (optional, you can also package in the sachet or pouch)
• A spice sachet or pouch or a piece of cheese cloth cut into 6-inch square with a piece of twine
• Include an instruction card on how-to make the mulled wine
